Our Team

Our board is made up of volunteer non-executive directors including directors appointed by the members at each AGM and by Selsey Town Council and Sidlesham Parish Council.

If you are interested in getting involved, please get in touch. There will be an opportunity for local people to stand for election to the board at each AGM.

Colin Rickman 
DipFD, BIE

Volunteer Director

Colin originally studied engineering at Southampton before changing career to work within the bereavement services industry where he held various management positions, including Operations Director for a major national company before becoming Business Development Manager and subsequently Manging Director of Yew Tree Business Consultants.  Colin is an active member of the Lions Clubs International, is a Trustee of Selsey Community Forum and also serves on the Cremation Society of Great Britain. He is the current Church Warden of St Peters Church in Selsey.

Jake Burnyeat

Volunteer Director

Jake is a renewable energy professional with over 14 years' experience. He is a founding director of Communities for Renewables (CfR), a community interest company which helps communities to set up local energy enterprises and works with them to develop, finance and manage their own renewable energy generation. Jake has an MSc in Environmental Technology from Imperial College. A keen sailor, Jake has clocked up more than 24,000 sea miles.

Tom Cosgrove

Volunteer Director

Tom is Development Manager at Communities for Renewables (CfR), which has helped develop and finance over £40million of community solar projects in 10 localities. He is a voluntary director of a number of community energy enterprises that CfR has helped set up. Tom has over 10 years' experience in renewables development and finance. Tom studied renewable energy at the University of Exeter. Tom enjoys spending his spare time with his family and catching a few waves, whenever possible.

Justine Clement

Volunteer Director

Justine spends her time between Selsey and the ancient woodland of Surrey. She was CEO of a unique agency creating travel experiences for some of the world’s global brands, before founding a wellbeing platform called The Life Adventure that works in the main, with the UK government to help define, organise and implement their employee wellbeing strategy.  She’s also gives her time as a volunteer verifier for the Mayor of London’s Healthy Workplace Award. She also founded a B Corp certified agency, called The Happy Prize Company, which works with leading global consumer brands such as Pladis and PepsiCo to source and create unique travel and other experiences which are used as part of their nationwide marketing campaigns.

 

Alongside that, Justine is passionate about being in the sea, and crowdfunded to set up the community initiative, The Selsey Sea Bathing Society, which seeks to improve the confidence and outlook of the local community through outdoor sea bathing.  She writes for Selsey Life magazine is also currently training to be a Breath Coach and a Forest Bathing practitioner and is writing a book on the subject.
